Despite the continued exceedingly wet, stormy summer, good progress continues to be made on the building. This brief tour will start at the top of the building and work down. The first image is taken from the roof of the addition looking toward the east atrium clearstory with an afternoon storm approaching from the north:
Inside Stetson, the roof panels at the peak of the atrium have been removed in order to add steel to support the roof. The panels closest to the peak will be replaced by glass to introduce natural light.
On Level 4, the Conservation Lab located in special collections is being framed out and sheetrocked:
On the same Level but to the north, the finishing touches are being added to the sprinkler system
On Level 3 in Stetson, ceiling repair continues in the reading room:
The Center for Media Initiatives south side offices have ventilations systems in place and are awaiting the extension of the raised flooring and demountable walls.
Compact shelving rails have been installed on Level 1 and 2 and await the pour of the concrete topping slab
Finally, the exterior retaining wall at the southwest of the addition has been covered with cast stone that emulates the limestone on the Stetson exterior
